It's always fun to learn things about yourself and your friends with a Personality Test. I'll start it off with my profile, Respectful Artist.
Anyone else want to try? :)

Mom and Dad's Visit

Mom and Dad were here this weekend, since Uncle Will & Aunt Joan came to relieve mom from caring for Gma. Chuck came over and spent the night, feeling relieved since he'd just finished a test and was looking ahead to a week of Bible Conference. We had a good long talk (Jeff said "argument") about Chuck's future, and Chuck voiced a lot of his opinions and insights. We'll see how the Lord leads, but it seems Chuck has his head about him. Dad gave him his blessing to get a car this summer.

Mom and Dad told us about their activities at church. They have been doing visitation every night in preparation for revival week. They also recently starred in a cowboy skit at their church which was a fundraiser for the youth program. Dad invented an identity as the "Ringo Kid." He told a long hardluck story about his life and how all of his friends were dead now. Then they asked him how old he was. He said "24." Mom was supposed to be his mother. She had to tell him, "Come along, Sonny, quit talking...we need to get back to work!" They both dressed up in Western outfits. Mom said being a part of that was one of the most fun times she'd had in a while.
Here are a couple of pictures from their visit.

Chuck's Update

Hey, this is Chuck and I'm at Em's house, so now I can actually access this site.
Bible Conference is coming up this week, so it will be a welcome break to my classes. I'm taking Biochemistry II and Lab, Botany and Lab, Bible Geography, and American Family, and Lord willing, I'll be graduating this May. I would appereciate your prayers as I am trying to decide what to do next. To all my siblings and their spouses, I say, "Blog on!"

Oh, Atlanta...

I thought you Kannon boys might appreciate the allusion above :)

Well, after last weekend's interview, I'm pretty much sold on teaching for Berean Baptist. They are the kind of people that know how to have fun and are very transparent, but are also concerned that their teachers keep up their skills and be the best they can be.
In some ways I feel like being there would stretch me a lot. I'm not used to being pushed like that. I've felt like I have been stagnating for the last three years as far as my own skills. Growing as a teacher, yes, but losing a lot of the ability I had. In some ways this is just the "pain" I need to get me going. :)
Another thing that excites me about teaching there is the opportunity to get better at guitar. I would be the only guitar teacher there, and Pastor McCoy says he gets many requests for guitar lessons. It may even end up that I am teaching more guitar than piano. That would be fun. :) I have really enjoyed learning more guitar in the last few months...I've been working through a Christopher Parkening method book.
We'll have to see what happens with Jeff's job. It is not certain if he would be hired directly by the company or work as a contractor for his brother (for the company.) It will depend on what opens up.
We're looking at houses already. With the bump up in income we'd probably be able to afford a bigger house, which is exciting. :)

Attic

Siblog

Jeff did a lot more to the attic. It's updated on his blog (click on Jeff's Blog under the Links list). It's looking more like an actual room!
